DUCK & COVER
During the early days of isolation I found myself overcome with anxiety. It surprised me and I wasn’t sure how to deal with it so I took solace in my comfy blanket. There was something about being enveloped with the weight of the blanket on my body that made me feel secure and protected. Others found solace in simple things. Everyday day things. By using only the bare walls of my studio and minimal propping, I want to capture the feelings of anxiety, weight and gravity felt as a result of the pandemic and the enforced isolation protocols. With our ‘freedoms’ removed, what are we left with?A special thank you to my very dear, supportive friends who stepped out of the safety of their homes to bare their vulnerabilities for this project.
